Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Unveiled
Xperiablog grabbed a screen cap of the newest tablet from Sony yesterday, the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, after they found it leaked to the official Xperia Lounge app on Google Play with both a small image and some marketing text.
Whether the leak is accidental or not is another matter, because Sony tends to leak tablets this way. As you can see, the text only confirms the name Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, and that it has a 2K display, while Sony also claims a leading processor, great battery life, and a low weight on this tablet.
Sony's tablets have always been light, had a good battery life, and the very latest processors, so that's all in keeping with the Sony tradition. Not to mention that they have been waterproof too. As for thickness, Sony pretty much invented thinness in tablets. After all Sony is the company that Apple took its design clues from originally.
The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet will run Android 5.0.x and feature NFC at least, but that's all we can confirm from some of Sony's other sources. The Sony tablet that have been anticipated the most this year, is the (unofficial) 12-inch Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Pro, but the tablet we see an image of above does not appear to be that one.
Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet might be a successor to the 10.1-inch Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet that is now 12 months old in February. But it's not an old tablet when you look at the specs; 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, a superb 1920 x 1200 resolution display, many features, and a thickness of 6.4mm.
Since the release of that tablet, the 8-inch Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet was added in September, with even better specs.
So we should expect the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet to be a very thin, light weight, Android 5.0 tablet with a very powerful processor, 3GB of RAM or perhaps even more, in a solid waterproof tablet, with a Samsung competitive resolution display.
Sony will officially release three white papers on March 1 (Sunday), which is the day before the start of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain where the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is mentioned (see images). That will make the tablet official then, so we should expect an official unveiling between March 1 and March 3.
And now we wait…
