12-Inch Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Pro May Launch In Q1 2015
12-inch tablets have been the new form factor in 2014. And now it seems that the trend is set to continue well into next year as well, since Digitimes reports that even Sony will join the 12-inch Android tablet game.
Currently Sony only have the two tablets Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet and Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact in their Android tablet portfolio, but Sony have manufactured larger tablets before, like the 11.6-inch Sony Vaio Tap 11 Windows 8 tablet.
Samsung launched two excellent 12.2-inch Android tablets at the beginning of the year, in the form of Samsung Galaxy Note PRO, and Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO. And then Microsoft launched the equally excellent 12-inch Surface Pro 3 with Windows 8.1 in May. Apple is then expected to launch a 12-inch Apple iPad Pro in Q1 2015 as well.
These tablets cost more than the average tablet, but then they are also packed with features and are meant for productivity, so they have powerful hardware to match.
It's not surprising to hear about a possible 12-inch Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Pro launch in Q1 2015, and Digitimes also notes that other tablet manufacturers are developing larger tablets that will be launched throughout the first and second quarter of 2015. The Sony Xperia Pro tablet will have particular stylus support the reports says, just like Samsung's Note PRO and Microsoft's Surface Pro 3.
We'll probably have to wait until CES in Las Vegas in early January to see an official announcement for this tablet.
