Apple’s New iPad Launches In 2023-2024 Including The First Foldable iPad
In the tablet computer world, one of the greatest questions is what new iPads Apple will launch this year?
Well according to what have been reputable Apple leakers for years, Apple won't launch any new iPads this year. So at time of the writing, nobody actually has any information that suggests Apple will launch a new iPad within 2023.
The first new tablets from Apple are expected to be a new iPad mini 7 and a new iPad Air 6 in the first part of 2024.
Later in 2024, these new iPads are likely followed by a new iPad 11 and the first iPad Pros with OLED screens.
So far the most reliable information about the next two 2024 iPad Pros is that they will feature OLED displays for the first time, progress to a M3 processor, and that both may grow 0.1 inch, to 11.1 inches and 13 inches.
If we look at the roadmap for Apple's launch cycle of iPads, it's actually not that long since Apple released new iPads. The present iPad Pros launched in October 2022 and are very powerful. And the iPad 10 launched at the same time.
The iPad Air 5 which is still a powerhouse to be reckoned with, even if it launched in March 2022, and the same goes for the iPad mini 6 which launched in September 2021. The cheapest iPad, which is the iPad 9, also launched in September 2021.
So in terms of performance, there is no immediate need for Apple to launch a new iPad at the moment, and in the meantime Apple has paid serious attention to updating the OS with new features instead, as we have experienced with the latest
For that reason it seems safe to buy any iPad on the market right now, since none of them will be replaced anytime soon.
But that's not all. Apple is expected to expand its tablet products next year even further.
The first new product is the Apple HomePod, a 7-inch tablet fixed onto a speaker and charging stand, that acts like a smart hub and home hub.
But the real headline grabber will probably be the first foldable iPad. The rumors for this device go back a bit, but even reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that a foldable iPad with a carbon fiber kickstand will launch in 2024. And Apple has been known to experiment with foldable devices even into the 20-inch range.

Thus, I'm taking a cautious approach to iPad shipments for 2023, predicting a YoY decline of 10-15%. Nevertheless, I'm positive about the foldable iPad in 2024 and expect this new model will boost shipments and improve the product mix.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) January 30, 2023
The only foldable tablets available today are the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold.
But these are still pretty big tablets, both when they are folded and unfolded. So hopefully Apple will produce a very slim and portable foldable iPad instead. Apple is known to have tested 9-inch foldables with an OLED display, so lets cross our fingers.
