Microsoft’s September 21st Event – The New Surface Tablets And Laptops That Can Be Confirmed Ahead Of Launch
We are just 2 weeks away from Microsoft's September 21st autumn launch event, and since we are that close, it's time to take a new look at the latest leaks before the event.
Two previously rumored tablets are no longer expected. Originally it had been rumored that both a 13-inch Surface Pro 10 would be unveiled alongside the first 11-inch Surface Pro, but according to the updated rumors by Windows Central, these two Windows tablets won't be launched before far into 2024, which may coincide with the launch of Windows 12.
But the Surface Go 4 is due for launch, which we have seen ourselves after we saw the upgraded storage on the newly registered model.
It's been suggested for a while that it may not be called Surface Go 4, but Surface Go 3+ or something like that, similar to how Microsoft have previously named some of their Surface tablets when they've only had their processor upgraded. But that remains to be seen.
I've seen that the screen size is the same 10.5 inches as before, so it's mainly the upgrade to the Intel N200 processor and upgraded storage that we are expecting in the new Surface Go.
But two additional Surface computers are still excepted too, and I can confirm one of them myself, which is the Surface Laptop Studio 2.
This studio mode laptop will retain the same 14.4-inch screen size and PixelSense Flow display, but benefits greatly with a jump from the 11th gen. Intel Core i5 and i7 processors to the latest 13th gen. Intel Core processors. Which according to WinFuture.de will be topped with the Intel Core i7-13800H CPU after some models have started to appear with retailers already.
Not to mention that it was benchmarked weeks ago with this chipset too, which was the first time it leaked some of its specs.
As for the third new Surface PC, I've only seen a new Surface Laptop Go 2 once across databases, and only with a model number that is very close to the current Laptop Go 2.
So it's fair to assume that the upgrade is very small too, and only consists of the rumored upgrade to the 12th gen. Intel Core i5-1235U processor for this 12.4-inch laptop.
So for those who are disappointed by the lack of new tablet choices from Microsoft this autumn for the 2023-2024 model year, there are some other tablet brands that have launched new Windows tablets in the 13-inch range this year.
The main ones so far this year includes the incredibly powerful Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2023), and the Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED.
But a lot of people have also been satisfied by the upgraded 2023 version of the 13-inch Chuwi UBook XPro 13.
