Apple switched over the iOS on iPads to the tablet specific iPadOS last year, and Microsoft has had a tablet mode button that lets users switch between tablet mode and desktop mode for years. This week Google announced that the Ambient Mode feature is rolling out to select Android tablet and smartphones, and the first two tablets with Ambient Mode are the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab and Lenovo Smart Tab M8. This feature is announced as rolling out to these two tablets in December, but the Lenovo Smart Tab M8 haven’t launched yet anyway, so that tablet will effectively be launched with Ambient Mode. … more…

One of the most annoying aspects of owning Android devices is the extremely slow rollout of updated version of the Android operating system. It’s enough of a phenomenon to even make it’s own headlines pr smartphone or tablet, which is ridiculous when you think about it. Yahoo’s email apps have been given a makeover as we can see in the updated versions today. The Yahoo! Mail app has been updated for both iOS and Android operating systems and is of course free.
