I checked out the new Alcatel Joy tablet and was impressed with what you get for only $168. I like the sharp and vibrant 8-inch IPS display, long battery life thanks to the 4080mAh capacity, quad-core processor, 32GB internal storage with SD card slot, IR blaster for controlling TVs, and 5MP front and rear cameras. The tablet runs the latest Android 9 Pie software and has band 71 600MHz support for fast LTE data speeds. - TechOdyssey |

The plastic build feels cheap and the 720p display isn't the best quality, but it's usable for basic tasks. I think Android 9 Pie is fine for phones, but the enlarged interface doesn't translate as well to tablets. Performance is sluggish at times with the slower quad-core processor and 2GB RAM, but it should be able to handle lightweight games and video streaming alright. The rear speaker audio quality isn't great, so use headphones for better sound. - Tech Titan |

The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.
We recently got our hands on the Alcatel Joy Tablet, and here's the lowdown on why it could be a fantastic choice for those on a budget. This tablet offers a lot of bang for your buck, and we've identified some reasons why it might just be the right fit for you.
Display and Design
The Joy Tab packs an 8-inch 1280×800 IPS display, ample 4080mAh battery, quad-core MediaTek processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB storage plus microSD expansion, and dual 5MP cameras.
It ships with Android 9 Pie out of the box. Models with 4G LTE connectivity are available.
Battery Life and Additional Features
The tablet provides very good value, especially for kids or anyone seeking an inexpensive media consumption device. The overall performance is decent for the price, effortlessly handling video streaming and lightweight games.
The smooth and vibrant screen works great for movies and websites, although sharpness doesn't match more premium tablets. Battery life also impresses, lasting nearly 8 hours on a charge.
Camera and Multimedia
On the downsides, build quality feels cheap due to the all-plastic construction. The cameras offer poor image quality, acting as more of a spec-sheet checklist item.
Audio from the single rear speaker can also sound tinny and distorted at high volumes.
The Joy Tab gives you just enough power and features to enjoy entertainment and web browsing, even on the go if you opt for the LTE version. It ships with helpful built-in apps like the CloserTV streaming video aggregator and a capable kids mode with controls.
In conclusion, for consumers seeking a secondary device for their child or even themselves strictly for fun without breaking the bank, Alcatel's latest tablet deserves a close look.
While power users and creative pros will need to keep looking, the Joy Tab hits all the right notes as an affordable entertainment slate.
