Our Rating

The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.

5.5
  • Performance 5 / 10
  • Display 4 / 10
  • Battery 6 / 10
  • Design 7 / 10

Alcatel has introduced a new budget-friendly Windows 10 tablet aimed at consumers seeking portability and productivity on the go.

Called the PLUS 10, it packs a 10.1-inch IPS touchscreen into a lightweight and compact design.

Attaching Magnetically

A key highlight is the magnetic keyboard dock that provides a laptop-style experience.

It connects firmly to the tablet while allowing full access to ports. Keys feel snappy with decent feedback for comfortable typing.

The spacious trackpad functions smoothly too.

Mobile Connectivity

Built-in 4G LTE means users can stay connected wherever they go without relying on WiFi.

This makes the PLUS 10 great for productivity on the move. It turns the keyboard dock into a WiFi hotspot for up to 15 devices also.

Decent Power for Basic Use

An Intel Atom x5 processor and 2GB of RAM deliver enough performance for web browsing, media consumption, document creation and other basic tasks.

Don't expect to run demanding software or games though. Storage is limited to 32GB but can be expanded via microSD card.

Affordable Windows Experience

The plastic construction feels somewhat cheap and hollow, and the display quality disappoints.

But for general home and office use, Alcatel's tablet offers solid value.

Slim, Lightweight Design

Weighing just over 1.3 pounds, the PLUS 10 is easy to carry around or use handheld for extended periods.

The slim profile slips easily into bags and packs. It works great as an ebook reader or portable media device.

Decent Cameras Included

You get 5MP and 2MP cameras on the rear and front. Photos and videos should be serviceable for casual use.

The cameras provide flexibility when capturing memories on the go or video chatting.

Cleaning up Windows 10

Alcatel uses a stripped down version of Windows 10 without bloatware.

This helps performance feel smooth despite modest internal specs.

The operating system runs well for browsing, productivity and entertainment.

Strong Value as a Secondary Device

For those wanting a lightweight Windows convertible as a secondary device, the Alcatel PLUS 10 holds appeal.

It delivers core functionality in an ultra-portable form factor at a wallet-friendly price point.

The 4G connectivity provides always-on internet access for work and play on the move.
