OnePlus Pad Launch In USA And Canada On May 8
It's been a few weeks since OnePlus announced their first tablet, the OnePlus Pad, and it was clear after the presentation that OnePlus would not launch the tablet before early summer.
What was not announced back then though was what markets the OnePlus tablet would launch in. But OnePlus has now announced that the OnePlus Pad will launch in North America on May 8.
And the price for the tablet will be $479 in the US, and $649 in Canada, directly from OnePlus' own store.
The cheapest accessory will be the OnePlus Folio Case for $39 / $57, while the OnePlus Stylo (digitizer pen) costs $99 / $139, and the OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard costs $149 / $209.
So now that we know all that, the question is where this tablet lands among existing tablets, as there is a gap in both price and size there, between the 11.6-inch OnePlus Pad and other Android tablets.
One of the closest Android tablets is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE which is typically priced just below the OnePlus Pad these days.
But Apple is a player here too, with the $449 iPad 10.9 as long as a buyer doesn't mind the iPadOS instead of the Android based OxygenOS 13.1 UI that the Onelus Pad.
We also need to see what people in general, especially the owners, will think of the 7:5 screen ratio and the location of rear camera.
