New HP Tablet – HP Slate 8 Pro In The Works?
Based on some benchmark tests this week, we might conclude that that HP is developing a new 8-inch Android tablet.
(UPDATED: HP Slate 8 Pro and other HP tablets was officially launched in September.)
Tested under the name of HP Slate 8 Pro, this tablet features a resolution of 1600×1200 on the 8-inch screen.
During testing it ran Android 4.2.2, and the listing indicates a Tegra 4 processor.
If these few details turn out to be true, then provided that HP release this tablet with a price no higher than $299, then the HP Slate 8 Pro just might appeal to a lot of people, with 8-inch tablets being something of a “hot new” popular choice this year, with the 8-inch tablets Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, and 7.9-inch Acer Iconia A1 all selling above average for tablets. So despite being listed with a lower resolution than the Nexus 7 FHD, it should still sell, since a lot of people prefer larger screens to higher resolution.
HP released the HP Slate 7 earlier this year. And while a good enough tablet in itself, it came too late to the show.
Now, let's wait for the launch and price details.
