The Xiaomi e-reader comes equipped with an E Ink Carta 1200 display that provides 300 PPI resolution for sharp, crisp text. The display utilizes 32 levels of adjustable warm and cold light to optimize reading in any environment.

An innovative feature of the e-reader is the intelligent refresh mode. It can detect if the screen is showing images or text, and automatically adjusts the refresh rate. This enables smooth, fast page turns without ghosting for seamless reading.

In terms of design, the device has an asymmetrical build with a slightly thicker portion housing physical page turn buttons.

The page turn buttons allow an immersive, book-like reading experience. The rest of the e-reader body is extremely lightweight. Other features include a USB-C port and built-in speakers.

Powering the e-reader is a quad-core RK3566 processor with 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB internal storage. The built-in 1200 mAh battery provides long battery life.

Additionally, a charging case with a 1950 mAh battery can extend usage up to 7 weeks on one charge. The e-reader runs Android 11.

Xiaomi is marketing the e-reader's Carta 1200 display, intelligent refresh technology, asymmetrical design, physical page turn buttons, and extra long battery life as key features that provide an optimized and comfortable reading experience.

With e-reader competition increasing, Xiaomi aims to differentiate itself with advanced display and refresh technologies that make reading e-books and documents smooth and seamless.

The launch in China represents an opportunity for Xiaomi to gain market share in the growing e-reader category.
