The first lucky ones that got to order the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 were people in Hong Kong this week on Tuesday, August 4, while other Asian markets have followed throughout the week. It launched in Singapore today on Friday August 7 as well. A tiny update since the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 was unveiled on July 20, is that a new “gold” colored edition has been added to the lineup of the black and white models.
The new 2nd generation Super AMOLED tablets Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 are still the hottest and most wanted Android tablets on the market, even with the launch of the 8-inch Asus ZenPad S 8.0 with similar 2048 x 1536 resolution (though not AMOLED) and 4GB of RAM.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 has 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, but beats the ZenPad because it has a more powerful octa-core processor with the Exynos 7 Octa 5433 processor, a new processor that is better than that in the first generation Samsung Galaxy Tab S. The graphics processor on Samsung Tab S2 is a 700 MHz Mali-T760 MP6 GPU.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 isn't just powerful but incredibly mobile too, even for a tablet, being the thinnest tablet in the world with a thickness of a mere 5.6 mm, and also being the lightest tablet in each category with a weight of 389 grams for the 9.7-inch tablet and 265 grams for the 8.0-inch tablet.
Galaxy Tab S2 is complete, which is evident when we study it in every area, ranging from the dual-band Wi-Fi with support for all the 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi bands, or if we look to the 2.1MP front camera and 8MP rear camera, the solid build quality, the many features and services that are included, like Microsoft Office for Android with 100GB free cloud storage from Microsoft even that can be used for storing and sharing whatever files you like.
So just like the iPad's have always been safe bets for people who either use or wouldn't mind using the iOS operating system, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is a safe bet for anyone who uses or wouldn't mind using Android for OS (Galaxy Tab S2 ships with Android 5.0.2). With the new 4:3 aspect ratio in the stunning new 2048 x 1536 resolution display, I've heard from a couple of owners of the first generation Tab S who have said that they are even going to buy the new one or trade in their old one to buy the newest version.
Either way the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is a safe tablet to chose either for yourself or as a gift if you want to have the best Android tablet on the market in 2015.
