The new 2014 lineup of Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 tablets could be closer to launch than initially expected now that some new purported pictures have been leaked.
(UPDATED: The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 line was officially unveiled April 1st.
Release begins on May 1, 2014: Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Release May 1 For $199)
The pictures are unofficial, just like all the other information about these tablets. And to its discredit, the alleged black and white Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 pictures do not look the same either. If the pictures are somewhat real however, then the date on the clock used in the images says April 24, which could indicate the unveiling/launch/release date. This is a practice that a few tablet brands use, and one that Samsung used on the February released Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone too, so the idea isn’t too far fetched.
As we can see, the alleged new 7-inch and 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 4’s look the same as their predecessors (the 8-inch model hasn’t been leaked yet). What we can’t tell from the images however is how much thinner and lighter it has become, so that will be interesting to learn in the weeks to come.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 3 line in three different sizes in July last year. Since then they have launched everything from Kids Tablet versions to Hello Kitty versions of them, while they launched the Galaxy Note, Galaxy NotePRO and Galaxy TabPRO line for those who needed Android tablets with higher screen resolution, more power, and more features.
And judging by the leaked specs for the the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 line, it looks like Samsung will keep the Galaxy Tab 4 line in the same tablet class as before.
