The Lenovo Smart Tab M8 tablet isn't all that original though. Underneath it all we find the HD version of the Lenovo Tab M8. The difference is that the Lenovo Smart Tab M8 is accompanied by a Smart Charging Station, which is essentially the Smart Dock for it. The good news is that this only adds a little bit to the price, as it will launch in October for $149 / €149, just 10 bucks more than the Lenovo Tab M8 HD.
Lenovo Smart Tab M8 is powered by a MediaTek A22 processor, 2GB of RAM, with 16GB and 32GB storage options, and sports an 8-inch screen with a HD resolution of 1280 x 800 at 350 nits brightness.
Other specs on this 8-inch Android 9.0 tablet are 2MP front and 5MP rear cameras, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, resolutions on the HD model, and 5MP and 13MP camera resolutions on the Full HD model, a 5000 mAh battery with 12 hour battery life, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and as a Google Assistant tablet it has dual mics with far-field voice recognition for yelling out commands to the tablet across the room.
On the exterior we are looking at a micro-USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio combo jack, while the Lenovo Smart Tab M8 color options are black or light grey, with a tablet thickness of 8.15mm, and a thickness of 305 grams.
Among 8-inch tablets with digital assistant thrown in, the most major rival at this point is the Fire HD 8 from Amazon with the Show Mode Dock which costs $119 combined.
