12.5-Inch Intel Core M Toshiba Dynabook R82 Unveiled
Toshiba took the wraps of a new 12.5-inch Intel Core M ultrabook today called Toshiba Dynabook R82. It will launch in the days to come but primarily in Asia.
Some Toshiba Dynabook tablets do find their way outside of Asia though, like the Toshiba Encore tablets. In Japan, the same tablets are called Toshiba Dynabook Tab tablets.
Toshiba Dynabook R82 meanwhile banks on the 12.5-inch + Windows 8.1 + Intel Core M formula that so many others tablet brands have used as a recipe the last two quarters, as we have seen with
Aspire Switch 12, Asus Transformer Book T300FA, Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi (release March 11), and even another from Toshiba, with the Toshiba Portégé Z20t Windows 8.1 Pro business tablet.
Toshiba Dynabook R82 offers 64-bit Windows 8.1, digitizer support, a 12.5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio, a 900 MHz Intel Core M-5Y31/M-5Y71 processor, 4GB/8GB LPDDR3 RAM, 128GB/256GB SSD storage, a 2MP front camera and 5MP rear camera, DTS sound, full 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi support, USB 3.0, LAN jack, a 10 hour battery life, and a tablet weight of 699 gram.
It's built with an aluminum chassis and the keyboard is spill-proof. The price in Japan begins at $1400.
If it ever launches outside of Asia, we will get back to this tablet.
