Updated 14-Inch AMD Tablet Minisforum V3 Specs

Minisforum, the computer hardware manufacturer most known for their wast range of desktop mini PCs has made an updated announcement on their upcoming AMD tablet Minisforum V3 through their Discord page.

Minisforum is still not at liberty to really discuss details of the upcoming processor since this AMD processor hasn't been launched yet. However, they do at least let us know that it's a flagship AMD CPU at 28W, which we know is where the AMD Hawk Point processor lies at.

So that's not really a secret any longer. But there was one important change to the specs sheet, which was that the 14-inch Windows tablet Minisforum V3 will feature a 2.5K resolution display, instead of the QHD+ resolution display at 3200 x 1800 that was rumored in September. For a hardcore gamer, that may still be a quite lot of screen resolution considering the hardware.

But the screen will still feature a refresh rate of 165 Hz and now MPP 2.6 pen support with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, 16GB and 32GB LPDDR5 6400 MHz RAM, M.2 2280 storage, quad speakers, a 2MP front camera, a 5MP rear camera, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a fingerprint reader, facial login, and a 50Wh+ battery.

It's will weigh less than 999 grams and be thinner than 9.9mm, while sporting 2x USB 4 ports and DP-in port, an SD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack.

Minisforum also continues to expect a launch in Q1 2024, though this will depend on the availability of the components too.

And while we have seen a few Windows handhelds such as the Asus Rog Ally launch with AMD processors lately, the upcoming Minisforum V3 is only the second AMD tablet in the tablet sized form factor to launch with an AMD processor alongside the interesting new Alldocube iWork GT 12, which is launching from AliExpress for a price of $649 with an AMD R5 7520U processor and 16GB RAM.
