Toshiba Satellite Radius 14 And 15 Unveiled
Toshiba Satellite Fusion wasn't the only new device Toshiba announced in California today, they also announced a new Toshiba Satellite Radius 14 and 15 today.
And just like the Fusion model, Toshiba likes to call it a 2-in-1, even if it strictly speaking isn't so much a 2-in-1 as it is a laptop with a 360 degree rotating display.
These are 14-inch and 15.6-inch Windows 8.1 devices, with 4K 3840 x 2160 resolution on the latter, giving it 282 ppi.
That's got to be pretty great for watching movies, and it has stereo Harman Kardon speakers with DTS Sound and Slipstream port technology in the speakers that Toshiba says reduces distortion, especially at high volume.
This is one of the new devices with a dedicated Cortana key for quick access to Microsoft’s personal digital assistant, and with TruTalk dual-array microphones to match.
Toshiba even moved the on/off power button from the top of the device, to the right side of the device, right next to the full-size HDMI port.
The 15.6-inch edition runs a 5th gen. Intel Core processor, which is also available on the 14-inch edition, but the smaller model also has the option of a AMD Accelerated Processing Unit instead.
All models will be launched the coming Sunday, with support for 802.11 ac, two USB 3.0 ports, and a single USB 2.0 port. These models have all developed in the same direction that many of Lenovo's and Asus top models have the last couple of years, so as impressive as the specs are, it's not without competition.
