Sync Your iCloud Calendar With Windows 10

The iCloud app for Windows allows you to sync files, photos, bookmarks, and more between your iPhone and Windows PC. However, it doesn't include emails and calendar events. To sync your iCloud calendar with Windows 10, you'll need to set up your Apple Email account on your Windows system. Here's how you can do it:

Setting Up Your Apple Email Account on Windows 10

  1. Download and install the Microsoft Mail and Calendar app from the Microsoft Store.
  2. If you already have the Microsoft Mail app, click on the gear icon at the bottom-left corner to open the Settings menu.
  3. From the Settings menu, click on “Manage Accounts.”
  4. In the Manage Accounts menu, click on “Add account.”
  5. On the Add new Account menu, select “iCloud” since we are using Apple.
  6. Before entering your sign-in credentials, check if your Apple account has two-factor authentication turned on. If it does, you'll need to generate a third-party app password. Head over to the Apple ID Account Settings, navigate to the security section, and click on “Generate password” under the App-specific password label.
  7. Create a label for the password and click on the Create button. Copy and paste the generated password somewhere safe.
  8. Enter the third-party app password, your Apple Email ID, and an account name in the Microsoft Mail sign-in box.
  9. If you encounter a sign-in error, make sure you've entered the correct credentials. If the problem persists, refer to the troubleshooting section.
  10. Once you're successfully logged in, your emails will appear in the Microsoft Mail Window, and your calendar events will be synced between your Windows PC and iPhone.

Viewing Your Calendar Events

To see your calendar events, click on the Calendar icon at the bottom-left side of the Microsoft Mail app. This will open a new window where you can view your local Microsoft account and Apple Mail events. If you only use the Apple Email account, you can disable the local Microsoft Calendar to avoid confusion. Simply uncheck the Calendar option at the bottom left, and you'll see events only from your Apple account.

Adding Events from Windows 10 Taskbar

You can quickly add events to your iPhone calendar from the Windows 10 taskbar. Click on the clock time at the bottom-right and add your events in the textbox below the calendar.

Syncing Events to Your iPhone

Once the events are synced, you can view them on your iPhone in the iOS calendar app or the widget screen.

Troubleshooting Microsoft Mail Error

If you encounter the “0x80004005” error, it could be due to the developer version of the Mail app. To resolve this, run a PowerShell command in the Windows PowerShell app. Make sure to run it as an Administrator. Copy and paste the following command in the PowerShell window and hit Enter:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose};

Restart your computer system and try logging in to your Apple account again. If the issue persists, reset the Mail app through the app settings. Type “Mail” in the Start menu, select Mail from the search results, and click on “App Settings.” Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Reset button. Keep in mind that resetting the Mail app will remove all your email accounts and preferences.

That's it! Now you can sync your iCloud calendar with Windows 10 and stay organized across devices.
