A rumor started 2 days ago on possibly one or two Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablet(s) for launch in 2018. The rumor originates from the supposed files for the Sony XZ2 smartphone camera APK.
The two rumored tablets are mentioned neither by name nor model number, so the rumor is based purely on 8 lines of information in the APK which is seen as exclusive to the XZ2 line of smartphones and tablets.
If we accept that the information is exclusive for the XZ2 line, then the next step is believing that the wordings:

are enough evidence to suggest that this info pertains to the as of yet unannounced Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablet(s) at 8 inches and 10 inches and not older Sony tablets at 8 inches and 10 inches.
This is the first time these tablets have been rumored. Installing the APK on older Xperia devices doesn’t seem to work, which can be taken as evidence that it wouldn’t fit an older tablet from Sony, only a newer one. But this is still not much to base a rumor upon. So we still need more evidence. As of yet, nothing is showing up in any official databases.
Sony is believed to launch some Pro version mobile devices in the XZ2 line where two of them are phones and one is a tablet, with model numbers SO-03K, SO-04K, and SO-05K being attributed to them.
The wildest most unsubstantiated rumor in the middle of this rumor mill so far is the Reddit screencap of the SO-05K model with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 4K OLED display at 4320 x 2160 resolution. However, that Reddit poster have combined OLED with Sony’s Triluminos technology even, on a 6-inch smartphone.
So naturally, we need info from industry insiders or official sources now, before we can start to actually dream about new tablets from Sony again.
