Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 (11-Inch) Gets OLED Screen

Samsung tablet fans will be glad to hear that Samsung has decided to go all in on OLED displays for their flagship S-range again this year.

The news was brought forward by display expert Ross Young who shared that the 11-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 will finally feature an OLED display again.

I say finally and again, because originally all of Samsung's S-range tablets had AMOLED displays, but when Samsung launched the Tab S7 and Tab S8 models, the 11-inch models made a split from their larger siblings who had an OLED display, and the 11-inch models got a LTPS LCD display instead.

This was done to cut costs, and it's hard to say how many people realistically noticed much difference, since Samsung's displays are very good on all tablets anyway. Though the most discerning users will notice a difference between LCD and OLED, once they know what to look for.

But the difference probably would have confuses customers a bit. Of course, iPad Pro buyers are faced with the same confusion and dilemma where the iPad Pro 11 and the iPad Pro 12.9 also have different displays.

So it's probably all for the better that Samsung brings back a more uniform experience for the 11-inch, 12.4-inch, and the 14.6-inch Samsung Galaxy tab S9 tablets in 2023.
