Redmagic Android Gaming Tablet Unveiled With 16GB RAM
Redmagic has just finished unveiling their first tablet today, which will launch on July 18 from 3999 Yuan, starting in China.
The Redmagic gaming tablet is a different configuration of the ZTE Axon Pad. ZTE is a parent company of Nubia, and Redmagic is a brand of Nubia.
So all of the main specs are the same. But the ZTE Axon Pad which has not been released yet, is geared towards the enterprise and prosumer market, while the Redmagic tablet is geared fully towards gaming.
For that reason, the Redmagic tablet seems to feature an even higher capacity ‘ICE' cooling system. But I'm still waiting for a verification of that.
But it does have more power though, since this is an Android 13 tablet with 16GB of RAM. Configuration options are between 12GB LPDDR5x RAM/256GB UFS 3.1 storage, or 16GB RAM/512GB of storage, both featuring an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ processor at 3.20 GHz.
In Geekbench 6, it has clocked in benchmark scores of up to 1850 in single-core and up to 4881 in multi-core scores, so that makes it a class leading gaming tablet running Android for operating system today, at least in multi-core.
The 12.1-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 2560 x 1600, while sporting a 144 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 and ZREAL, as well as 600 nits brightness, leading to a 240 Hz sampling rate and up to 60 fps gaming.
Other main specs are on the high side too, such as the 13MP front camera and the 16MP rear camera with LED, the quad speakers with DTS: X Ultra audio, the 10,000 mAh battery with 80W charging, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and BT 5.3.
Among the features, this really is a gaming focused tablet, with additional Redmagic ecosystem integration, and emphasis on full e-sport compatibility, with support for gaming related peripherals and accessories, including streamlined setups with cloud gaming and gaming hubs and services.
Accessories are 4096 pressure level digitizer pen, a keyboard with trackpad, a folio cover, and a tempered glass screen protector.
The tablet is 6.5mm thick and weighs 613 grams and comes with two different designs. One black and gray one, and one yellow one called Bumblebee (named after Bumblebee from Transformers), both featuring a red power button.
So Redmagic's first tablet is for a powerful Android tablet and a focused gaming tablet. And for that reason I'll keep my fingers crossed for a quick international release too of this tablet.
