Our Rating

The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.

6.5

  • Design 5 / 10

Released at an affordable price point, the quad-core ORBIT 10QC packs decent specs for the cost. Highlights include a vibrant 10.1-inch IPS display, generous 6000mAh battery, and microSD storage expansion.

The 1280×800 resolution screen is mediocre but provides ample real estate for web browsing and videos. Images and text won’t be as sharp compared to premium tablets. But color reproduction should pop nicely on the LCD panel.

Processing power comes via an unnamed quad-core chip, which handles most daily tasks reasonably well. Multitasking and intensive 3D games do tax it though. You also get 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

In terms of design, this is a bulky and plain tablet. At 9.4mm thickness and made entirely of plastic, it doesn’t turn heads. But build quality seems decent enough for regular use.

The ORBIT 10QC runs a dated Android 4.1 Jellybean out the box. So you miss out on the polish and features of newer OS versions. Connectivity options are fairly standard, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro USB port.

For photography, a basic 5MP rear camera allows 720p video. Pictures and footage will be mediocre and lack vibrancy. The front 1.3MP selfie camera also disappoints. Neither sensor has a flash.

On the plus side, that huge 6000mAh battery outputs excellent longevity. You should easily get over a day of mixed usage on a charge. Quick top-ups are possible via the micro USB port.

In closing, while it won’t replace an iPad, the ORBIT 10QC gives you big screen functionality on a small budget. If you primarily want a tablet for web access, video consumption, or simple gaming, it gets the job done.

Just expect compromises in display quality, software, camera, and aesthetics compared to premium alternatives costing twice as much. For casual use, this no-frills tablet merits consideration.
