Lenovo recently released the IdeaTab A3000, a 7-inch Android tablet aimed at budget-conscious consumers. Priced around $180, this tablet impresses with its build quality and features considering its affordable cost.

Touts IPS Display, Quad-Core Power
The A3000 stands out from other low-cost tablets with its 7-inch IPS display. The IPS technology offers wider viewing angles, making for a much better viewing experience compared to cheaper panels. Videos and websites look more vivid and clear.

Lenovo also equipped the A3000 with a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.2GHz. This gives the tablet solid performance for smooth web browsing, video watching, and basic gaming.

The tablet handled everyday tasks without any lag during our hands-on time. It even benchmarks slightly above other tablets in its price range despite having a lower score than expected.

Provides Great Portability
Weighing 11.99 ounces with a 0.43 inch thickness, the IdeaTab A3000 offers nice portability for on-the-go use. The curved rear nestles comfortably in one hand. The tablet seems crafted more durably than other affordable slates.

Its 3500mAh battery lasts around 8 hours for web browsing over Wi-Fi. This gives users enough juice for short trips without having to pack a charger. Standby time is even longer at 14 days according to Lenovo.

Offers Standard Features & Great Connectivity
The A3000 runs a stock version of Android 4.2 Jellybean. Lenovo does not clutter up the interface too much. The pre-loaded apps also provide helpful functionality like note taking, calendar organization, and video playback.

For software and services, users have full access to the Google Play Store and suite of Google Mobile apps. The tablet covered connectivity both with dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. It also includes GPS support for location-based apps.

Provides Decent Photography Capabilities
A rear 5MP auto-focusing camera handles casual shots respectably, though without a flash. A basic VGA front-facing camera works appropriately for occasional self-portraits and video chat. The camera software itself seems a tad basic but gets the job done.

Reflective Screen Can Irk
The most glaring downside of the tablet shows itself in the highly glossy IPS display. It exhibits heavy glare under bright lighting that poses some irritation. An anti-reflective coating would have provided better visibility.

Overall Impresses for the Cost
Despite the reflective screen, the IdeaTab A3000 delivers great bang-for-your-buck. The IPS display and quad-core processor outclass other tablets at this price point.

Solid build quality and ample connectivity make it versatile for everyday use and travel. For budget shoppers wanting more than the bare minimum, Lenovo’s latest tablet warrants a close look.
