Reviews

User Reviews 1 User Reviews Blackview Tab 12 tablet has a modern design with thick bezels and an aluminum back. The corners feel sharp when holding though. It's made for landscape orientation with buttons and ports distributed to facilitate that. The tablet runs Android 11 so the software is dated. The interface looks clean but there is bloatware that can mostly be uninstalled. The Unisoc chipset keeps costs down but means performance takes a hit, especially for gaming which stutters quite a bit.
- Geeky Stuff
User Reviews 2 Unboxing the Tab 12, I found the tablet itself along with a 10W charger, USB cable, documentation, and SIM ejector tool inside. I really like that it comes with a free, good quality cover unlike other budget tablets. The aluminum body also provides a nice premium feel.

We tested the cameras, with the front being 5MP and rear 13MP. For hardware, the Tab 12 offers a bright 10.1-inch IPS display that should deliver an excellent viewing experience. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which seems decent to me at this price. Battery capacity stands at a sizable 6580mAh. Performance comes from a Unisoc processor, which I think can handle daily tasks fine.

User Reviews 3 I found the tablet itself along with a charger, USB-C cable, SIM ejector pin, and documentation inside. The thin, nice-looking design doesn't feel cheap. I really appreciate that it has a SIM card slot and a dedicated microSD card slot. Those features are great to have on a budget tablet.

Booting up, it runs Android 11. The IPS screen provides a perfectly fine full HD display. Testing out gaming performance, games like Asphalt ran smoothly with no issues or lag. The dual speakers also deliver decent audio quality for media playback.

Our Rating

The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.

7.3
  • Performance 6 / 10
  • Display 8 / 10
  • Battery 8 / 10
  • Design 7 / 10

The Blackview Tab 12 impresses with its affordability and a range of features that punch above its weight. It's an excellent choice for users seeking a budget-friendly tablet for everyday tasks and media consumption.

Design and Build
The Blackview Tab 12 sports a modern design with a sleek aluminum back, delivering a premium feel uncommon in budget tablets. However, the sharp corners may not be everyone's favorite, and the thick bezels around the display are noticeable. Despite these minor quirks, the tablet feels sturdy, and the inclusion of a free high-quality cover adds to its appeal.

Display
Featuring a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels, the Tab 12 provides a bright and colorful viewing experience. The haptic feedback enhances the overall user interface, making it a suitable device for media consumption, reading, and web browsing. The 16:10 aspect ratio is ideal for vertical space, improving the browsing and media playback experience.

Performance
Running on Android 11, the Tab 12 offers a clean interface with some pre-installed apps that can be uninstalled. Powered by the Unisoc SC9863A octa-core processor, the tablet handles casual tasks well but stumbles with more demanding activities like gaming. The 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage are decent for its price, and the inclusion of a microSDXC slot for expandable storage is a bonus.

Cameras
While the 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras do their job for basic photography and video calls, they fall short of delivering impressive results. The image quality is acceptable given the price point, but users should set realistic expectations.

Battery Life
One of the Tab 12's strengths lies in its substantial 6580mAh battery, providing reliable performance for daily tasks and media consumption. The 10W wired charging may not be the fastest, but it gets the job done.

Connectivity and Features
The inclusion of dual SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot is a notable feature, offering flexibility for users who need extra storage or dual SIM functionality. The tablet supports 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS, catering to essential connectivity needs.

Value for Money
Considering the affordable price point, the Blackview Tab 12 offers incredible value. Its combination of a premium design, decent display, and satisfactory performance make it a standout budget tablet. However, compromises are evident in aspects like the dated Android 11 software, underpowered processor, and average camera quality.

If seeking an inexpensive tablet strictly for entertainment purposes, the Blackview Tab 12 warrants a look. However, those with higher performance and camera expectations may need to explore options in a higher price bracket. Overall, the Tab 12 stands as one of the best budget tablets in 2022, offering a compelling package for the price-conscious consumer.
