The SIM card is most commonly associated with GSM and UMTS mobile networks. Moving a SIM card from one phone to another allows a subscriber to switch mobile phones without having to contact their mobile network carrier. SIM cards can also be used by a phone to store limited amounts of data, such as phone numbers and text messages. Micro-SIM

Reviews

User Reviews 1 User Reviews I think of the tablet as my own mini entertainment system thanks to its dual front speakers and 7-inch HD display. The wide 178 degree viewing angle makes reading easy. The anti-fingerprint coating helps keep movies and videos clear of smudges.
- AT&T
User Reviews 2 The software runs Asus's Zen UI on top of Android KitKat. I hope it gets updated to Lollipop. There is a lot of bloatware pre-installed which you can disable but not fully uninstall. However, I do like the quick settings which provide easy access to more settings than stock Android.

User Reviews 3 I'm really impressed with the new design of the Memo Pad 7. The metal back looks and feels super elegant, slim and nice - almost like a clutch bag. It definitely seems to be real metal, not plastic.

Our Rating

The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.

6.3
  • Performance 6 / 10
  • Display 7 / 10
  • Battery 7 / 10
  • Design 5 / 10

Asus has launched an update to its affordable 7-inch Android tablet line. The new Memo Pad 7 LTE sports a slim metal body and other upgrades while keeping the price low.

The Memo Pad 7 LTE's metal back brings a premium look and feel. At 8.3mm thin, Asus calls it a super slender clutch bag design.

Despite the metal, it weighs just 299 grams for easy portability.

A Full HD panel replaces the old 1280×800 screen. Viewing angles reach 178 degrees and an anti-fingerprint coating keeps smudges away.

Dual speakers sit on the sides for better sound compared to tablets with rear speakers.

Inside, a quad-core Intel Atom x64 processor runs at 1.3GHz. Performance seems decent and supports 64-bit software.

The Atom also enables 150Mbps LTE for always-on connectivity.

The LTE variant will cost extra but seems a good value for the metal body and mobile data support.

While improved, the new display doesn’t match AMOLED quality. Colors look a bit faded compared to tablets like the Galaxy Tab S.

No word on software updates. It currently runs aging Android KitKat instead of the newer Lollipop release.

Bloatware apps come pre-installed too.

Camera resolution stays at 2MP front and 5MP rear. They work fine for occasional use but don’t expect anything special.

The Intel chip limits gaming graphics potential versus other tablets.

For shoppers seeking an affordable 7-inch LTE tablet, the Asus Memo Pad 7 makes a compelling case.

The stylish metal unibody and Full HD screen outclass other budget slates.

Battery life estimates around 7 hours for typical use.

If you can live with middle-of-the-road specs elsewhere, the Memo Pad 7 LTE brings tremendous value.
