SIM SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) is a small card that contains mobile network subscriber's account information. This allows the phone using the card to attach to a mobile network. The SIM card is most commonly associated with GSM and UMTS mobile networks. Moving a SIM card from one phone to another allows a subscriber to switch mobile phones without having to contact their mobile network carrier. SIM cards can also be used by a phone to store limited amounts of data, such as phone numbers and text messages. Nano-SIM and eSIM

Energy is sent through an inductive coupling to an electrical device, which can then use that energy to charge batteries or run the device. No

Reviews

User Reviews 1 User Reviews I found A10 processor makes it quite fast and should keep it running well for years. The display, while not as advanced as the iPad Pro's, works very well with the Apple Pencil for drawing. I was also impressed by its Geekbench scores, which were close to the iPad Pro despite the price difference.

User Reviews 2 I think Apple did the bare minimum with improvements, but that's understandable given it already dominates the tablet market. While not perfect, I believe for most people this is clearly the tablet to get if you want to spend under $500.
- The Verge
User Reviews 3 I found the 2018 iPad provides excellent value and performance. The tablet keeps the same durable design as last year's model while upgrading to a faster A10 chip. This allows the iPad to handle demanding apps and games without issue.

Tabletmonkeys Reviews Tabletmonkeys Reviews Pros:
- Fast A10 processor, Geekbench scores close to iPad Pro
- Good display that works well with Apple Pencil
- Long battery life exceeding Apple's estimate
Cons:
- Lacks 120Hz ProMotion display iPad Pro has
- Only 2 speakers vs 4 speakers on iPad Pro
- Older 1st gen Touch ID, not 2nd gen like iPad Pro

Our Rating

The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.

8.5
  • Performance 9 / 10
  • Display 8 / 10
  • Battery 9 / 10
  • Design 8 / 10

Apple has refreshed its entry-level 9.7-inch iPad for 2018, and the new model delivers strong performance and functionality.

The tablet retains the same durable, iconic design as previous generations, but upgrades to a zippy A10 Fusion processor.

Testing shows the speedy chip handles demanding apps and games smoothly. The iPad also outlasts Apple's 10-hour battery life estimate during video playback.

While the display is not cutting-edge like the iPad Pro's, it nicely complements the Apple Pencil. The screen reproduces the Pencil's strokes accurately for drawing and writing.

The iPad supports augmented reality (AR) apps and games. And it now works with Apple's cheap Logan keyboard case, boosting productivity.

Overall the new iPad offers a compelling blend of good performance, long battery life, iOS support, and Apple ecosystem integration at an affordable price.

The iPad is not perfect and falls short of the iPad Pro in display tech, speakers and quick charging. But it does about 80% of what the Pro does for 60% less money.

For budget-minded consumers, it hits a sweet spot combining great performance with value.

Apple's 2018 iPad 9.7-inch tablet delivers a lot of punch for the price. It handles games and apps speedily while also supporting the Apple Pencil. Battery life is strong at 10+ hours

For most people seeking an affordable big-screen iPad, this one is an easy call. It is the budget tablet to beat.
