11.5-Inch Linux Tablet Purism Librem 11 Announced With AMOLED Display, 1TB Storage, Keyboard, Pen

A new Linux tablet has been unveiled, and this time it's one from Purism.

The new tablet is the Purism Librem 11 Tablet, which runs the open source PureOS based Pure Boot upon delivery, geared towards the security conscious.

So let's have a look at the specs, because for $999, we should expect some pretty good hardware.

Purism Librem 11 with keyboard and pen

For starters, this is an 11.5-inch tablet with a 2560 x 1600 resolution AMOLED display and 60 Hz refresh rate. So that will be popular.

Main hardware consists of an Intel N5100 processor, 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and as much as 1TB of NVMe storage.

As we can see, this Linux tablet has both a keyboard as well as Goodix GXTP7380 digitizer support for a 4096 pressure level sensitive pen. And they are both included with the tablet.

Other specs includes Wi-Fi 6, BT 5.0, and there is some confusion about the cameras that are either a combination of 2MP/5MP cameras, or an 8 MP front camera, and a 13MP rear camera with LED.

Other than that it also has a fingerprint reader, accelerometer, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, 2x USB-C 3.1 ports, and a microSD card slot.

Purism Librem 11 is also just 6mm thick, and weighs 560 grams. Which makes this a really thin tablet.

So an interesting Linux tablet, and yet another Linux tablet to launch within short time from an established company, with a higher level of specs than what we have been used to in the past. Since we also have the differently configured Linux tablet StarLabs StarLite 5 launching soon.

Which shows that Linux tablets are starting to significantly grow both their market share and user base.
