Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Gen 2 Modular Tablet Leaks
11 months after the first Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet modular tablet was unveiled on January 4th in Las Vegas, the successor Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Gen 2 have leaked as well.
I don't think the first Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet made much success in the marketplace even though it did get a fair bit of attention during the unveiling, mostly because it was a modular tablet. But then people mostly forgot about it, and the modules were neither as practical nor as widely available as people wanted the modules to be.
The current Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet is a 12-inch Windows 10 2-in-1 with 2160 x 1440 resolution, Intel Core m “Skylake” procesor choices, and up to 16GB of RAM. So we can only assume that the successor will utilize the newest 7th generation Intel Kaby lake processor instad, but we will have to wait and see to be sure of it.
The only specs that have leaked so far on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Gen 2 (TP00082A), is the integrated WLAN module from Intel, with Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi cover.
Given the timing of the FCC leaks, it seems reasonable to expect an unveiling of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet 2 at the CES trade show in early January 2017.
