Google Pixel Tablet Announced Today With Speaker Dock – Launch June 20 For $499 To $599

The Google Pixel Tablet was announced during the Google I/O 2023 today by Google's vice president of product management, Rose Yao. The release date of the Pixel Tablet is June 20:

Google's latest Android tablet will launch for a price of $499 for the 128GB model or $599 for the 256GB mode, both with the Charging Speaker Dock included.

This marks Google's return to Android tablets, which comes with a minimum of 5 years of security updates, Chromecast built in, and a magnetic speaker dock that will make it act like a smart hub when you slap the tablet onto the dock, with immediate access to Google Home controls or Google Assistant.

Google Pixel Tablet Price

Google Pixel Tablet has specs such as a 10.95-inch LCD screen with a 2560 x 1600 resolution display with 120 Hz refresh rate, at 500 nits, and support for any USI 2.0 digitizer pen.

It's powered by the Google Tensor G2 chipset with a Titan M2 security coprocessor, together with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and options of 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Pixel Tablet battery life is 12 hours long, from a 27 Whr battery which can be charged either through the USB C port, or through the Charging Speaker Dock. The Charging Speaker Dock adds a 15W charger too.

It has an 8MP front camera with a f/2.0 aperture and 84° field of view, and a similar 8MP rear camera, with features such as Magic Eraser for removing objects in an image, Long Exposure, Panorama, Night Sight, and related camera features, and Full HD video calls and recording.

And despite a separate audio dock, it still has quad speakers of its own, and 3 mics with noise suppression.

Tablet sensors on the Pixel Tablet includes ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, hall sensor, and a fingerprint reader in the power button. It also has a Ultra-Wideband chip (UWB) for improved ranging.

Internet connectivity options are Wi-Fi 6, and BT 5.2, while ports are 1x USB C 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a 4-pin rear connector for the dock used to charge it with and transfer data and audio.

Color options are called Porcelain, Hazel, and Rose, while the weight of the tablet is 493 grams, and the thickness is 8.1mm.

Google's line of official Pixel Tablet accessories includes the Pixel Tablet Case with the silver rear stand for $79, a Speck StandyShell for for $49, or a Speck ShieldView Glass Screen Protector for $49.

Google sells the Pixel Tablet with the dock included because that's very much the main concept of this tablet. To have the best features of the Nest Hub, but also to have a tablet that's powerful and well equipped enough to be suitable for some produtivity too in additon to the entertainment and convenience features of a tablet.
