Asus ZenPad 8.0 2 (Z380M MB) 2016-2017 Model Coming
A new second generation Asus ZenPad 8.0 2 (Z380M MB) 2016-2017 model is coming, after this tablet leaked via its FCC approval papers during the last day. The first generation Asus ZenPad 8.0 (Z380C / KL) was announced in June last year.
One of the main changes with the new Asus ZenPad 8.0 2 (Z380M) is that it will launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Asus ZenPad 8.0 is a HD tablet that should not be confused with the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 retina tablet though, even if they are both 8-inch Android tablets with very similar names.
The 8-inch Android 6.0 Asus tablet Asus ZenPad 8.0 2 (Z380M MB) has from FCC leaked with specifications such as a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8163 processor, a 2MP front camera, and a 5MP rear camera, dual-band 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, 8GB and 16GB storage options, and 1GB and 2GB RAM options.
So the new 2016-2017 model Asus ZenPad 8.0 (Z380M MB) has changed the main things that has hampered its sales lately, which is an older Android version and an unloved processor choice with the Intel Atom x3-C3200 processor.
Otherwise the original tablet has been a good tablet. But since the retina model Asus ZenPad S 8.0 with higher specs only costs $40 more, it never made much sense to try and save money by opting for the HD version.
