Amazon Fire Tablet Sales Up 3x Year Over Year

Amazon have announced that sales of their Fire tablets on Black Friday in the US this year increased 300% over last years sales.

Those are huge numbers, but there's a lot of things that account for that increase, specifically that their new 6-inch Fire HD tablet that is already cheap at $99 was cut to just $79 on Black Friday. The larger Fire HD 7 was cut by $30 as well. And Amazon didn't have any Kindle Fire tablets (as they were called in 2013) on sale for Black Friday last year. The sale had to wait until Cyber Monday, when their Kindle Fire HDX 7 was on sale. The Fire HDX 7 was on sale for Cyber Monday in Germany yesterday, and sales figures should be pretty goode there.

But there are many other reasons why Amazon's Fire tablets are gaining ever more popularity too, ranging from an acknowledgment of their quality, to Amazon's development of new services for users of the Amazon ecosystem, the last of which was unlimited cloud storage for photos.

Other top selling tablets during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday week have been the iPad mini 3 with 16GB, the Asus Transformer Book T100, Samsung Galaxy Tab S Super AMOLED tablets, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4's, the middle two of which have seen deep discounts these days. These tablets and many others were just some of the Cyber Monday tablet deals.

Tablets that are otherwise placed high on peoples wishlist are the iPad Air 2 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, but both of these tablets costs more, so they are not something everyone can afford.
