2023 Version Fire HD 10 Leaks With NFC And GPS
I've noticed that Amazon got an approval for a new 2023 Fire HD 10 tablet through the FCC yesterday, so we should be able to expect a successor to the current Fire HD 10 soon.
The current model was launched in April 2021, so that's stretching your luck a bit in tablet years.
Amazon has prevented most of the specs from leaking out in advance, but I saw that Amazon has decided to continue with Wi-Fi 5, which means that they are still deliberately making sure they don't launch a flagship type of tablet that would step on the toes of Apple, Samsung, and Lenovo.
But the new 10.1-inch tablet has been approved with two new pieces of hardware, which are NFC and GPS.
It was also approved with wireless charging support, but that's already available on the current Plus versions of both the Fire HD 10 as well as Fire HD 8, so that's not new. Even though wireless charging is still a rare treat among tablets.
The dimensions have grown a little too, as it's 2-3mm wider and longer, as well as 0.3mm thicker. At least in the schematics seen. So I guess the old tablet cases and covers won't fit any longer.
We'll update once we know more about Amazon's new 10-inch tablet for 2023.
