Samsung Galaxy X – Samsung’s First Foldable Tablet Phone Hybrid Trademarked?

Galaxyclub noted today that Samsung Galaxy X have had its trademark name filed by Samsung at the Patent and Trademark Office in the US.

The product description for the Samsung Galaxy X where Samsung describes what the trademark name is for is a little bit funny, because normally it is stated clearly and briefly what products the name is assigned to, like Samsung Galaxy Note being assigned to tablets and phones.

But with the Samsung Galaxy X, the trademark is described by Samsung as being for:

“Mobile telephones; Digital cameras; Portable media player; Portable computers; Wireless headsets for mobile phones, smart phones and tablet computers; Rechargeable electric batteries; Battery chargers; Leather cases for mobile phones, smart phones and tablet computers; Protective flip covers for mobile phones, smart phones and tablet computers; Tablet computers; Television receivers; Audio electronic components, namely surround sound systems; Digital set-top boxes; DVD players; Light emitting diode displays; monitors, namely, computer monitors, liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors, television monitors and touchscreen monitors; 3D eye glasses; Computers; Document and photo printers for computers; Semiconductors; Bracelets that communicate data to personal digital assistants, smart phones, tablet PCs, PDA, and personal computers through internet websites and other computer and electronic communication networks; Watchbands that communicate data to personal digital assistants, smart phones, tablet PCs, PDA, and personal computers through internet websites and other computer and electronic communication networks; Watches that communicate data to personal digital assistants, smart phones, tablet PCs, PDA, and personal computers through internet websites and other computer and electronic communication networks”

So as we can see, it covers everything that can be considered phones, tablets, PDA’s, bracelets/watchbands, and displays in several ways, while still appearing focused. But then again, it is a Samsung Galaxy device, so that’s already understood.

Up until January it had been believed that Samsung’s first 2 foldable tablets and phones would be teased in February this year, but currently it is believed that the first foldable Samsung tablets have been pushed back to a Q3 launch/unveiling instead, both because of internal reshuffling at Samsung, as well as redevelopments of the current prototypes.
