Top 8 Ways to Fix Alarms Not Going Off on Samsung Galaxy Phones
Getting up in the morning can be challenging sometimes. If you rely on the Clock app on your Samsung phone to set your alarms, it can be frustrating when your alarms don't go off or make any sound. Fortunately, there are some tips you can try to fix this issue on your Samsung Galaxy phone. Let's take a look.
1. Check the Alarm Tone and Volume
The first thing you should check is the alarm tone and volume. Open the Clock app on your phone and select the alarm that's not going off. Make sure the toggle next to Alarm sound is enabled. Then, check the set ringtone and adjust the volume to your liking.
2. Check the Alert Settings in the Clock App
Another reason why the alarm sound may not work is if your phone is set to Mute or Vibrate. Open the Clock app, tap the kebab menu in the top right corner, and select Settings. Disable the toggle next to Silence alarms when system sound is off.
3. Allow the Clock App to Set Alarms & Reminders
If you've previously disabled the permission for the Clock app to set alarms and reminders, your set alarms will not work. Long press on the Clock app icon, tap the info icon, go to Alarms & reminders, and enable the toggle next to Allow setting alarms and reminders.
4. Enable Automatic Date and Time
Having your Samsung phone set to an incorrect date or time can cause alarms to malfunction. Open the Settings app, go to General management > Date and time, and enable the toggle for Automatic date and time.
5. Configure Do Not Disturb Mode
When you enable Do Not Disturb mode, your phone may silence alarms. To allow alarms during DND mode, open the Settings app, navigate to Notifications > Do Not Disturb, and enable the toggle next to Alarms.
6. Clear the Clock App Cache and Data
If the Clock app on your phone is malfunctioning due to overwhelming cache data, you can try clearing the app cache. Long press on the Clock app icon, tap the info icon, go to Storage, and tap the Clear cache option. If the problem persists, tap on Manage storage and clear the app data.
7. Update the Clock App
An outdated or buggy Clock app could also cause the alarm not working issue. In the Clock app, tap the kebab menu, scroll down to tap on About Clock, and check if a newer version is available. If so, update the app.
8. Reset App Preferences
If you've recently disabled any system apps on your phone, it could cause features like alarms to stop working. To reset app preferences, open the Settings app, go to Apps, tap the kebab menu, and select Reset app preferences.
Rise and Shine with the customized alarm sound of your Samsung Galaxy phone.
One of the solutions listed above should resolve the alarms not going off issue on your Samsung Galaxy phone. If not, the problem could be with the Clock app you're using. In that case, you may want to try out the Clock app from Google or a dedicated alarm app for your Android.
