I found it surprisingly versatile for the low price. I like that it was compact, light, and easy to set up and use. The screen and audio quality were fine for most people. I am happy with the variety of apps available and that she could make video calls over Zoom. However, some key Alexa features still don't work in Canada after years, like voice commands, Show Mode, and Audible integration. You may be waiting years for these features. The most impressive aspects to me were the microSD card slot for up to 1TB of storage, which is huge, and the low $60-90 price tag. However, I warned the build quality and components are basic for what you pay. In the end, I would only recommend the Fire HD 8 if you want an extra, affordable supplementary tablet.
