Reviews

User Reviews 1 User Reviews I felt the HD 8 was a decent tablet. It had good build quality and was very thin. The display was bright enough for indoor use. The modified Android experience worked fairly well, though there was some lag.
- Dr.E (BigMac MacDonald Lee)
User Reviews 2 I felt it was lightweight and fast, with great speed for web browsing and videos. In speed tests, it loaded pages as fast as an iPad which has a faster processor. The HD 10 also had better audio than cheaper Fire tablets.

Amazon recently released an updated version of their popular Fire HD 10 tablet.

The Fire HD 10 sports a sharp 10.1-inch 1080p display, a significant upgrade over the previous model's lower resolution screen.

The IPS panel is bright and vivid. The new quad core processor provides snappy performance when browsing, streaming video or playing games.

The HD 10 could keep up with an iPad in speed tests despite Apple's faster chip.

The HD 10 runs Amazon's Fire OS, a customized version of Android. The simple interface omits Google's apps and services.

The OS intuitive and preferred its streamlined approach. The OS focuses on easy access to Amazon content like books, videos and music.

The HD 10's speakers as a standout feature. The dual Dolby Atmos speakers deliver louder, richer audio than cheaper Fire tablets.

One expert called them the best speakers he's heard on a budget slate. The HD 10 also includes expandable storage via microSD card.

While the HD 10 impressed as a media consumption device, its cameras come up short for photography.

The rear 5MP and front VGA cameras are basic. But they work fine for video calls and quick shots.

Overall reviewers called the Fire HD 10 an excellent value. The combination of good build quality, vivid screen, smooth performance and loud speakers make it one of the top budget tablets around.

Reviewers agreed it's an easy recommendation for Prime members wanting an affordable iPad alternative focused on Amazon content.
