The V3 stands out with its slim 3-in-1 detachable design and high-end specs. It packs the unreleased Ryzen 7 8840U, an 8-core, 16-thread chip with max boost to 5.1GHz. The 8840U's integrated Radeon 780M GPU has 12 compute units for graphics.
Another key feature is the upgraded XDNA AI engine with 16 TOPs for machine learning. Minisforum touts the V3 as an “AI powerhouse.” It supports Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI capabilities.
The 14-inch touch display hits 500 nits brightness with 2560×1600 resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. It has 100% P3 color and 16:10 aspect ratio. A stylus with 4096 pressure levels comes included.
Despite the speedy CPU, Minisforum implements dual cooling fans and copper tubes to prevent thermal throttling. The magnesium alloy body weighs just 0.946kg.
Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The V3 packs up to 32GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM and 2TB PCIe SSD storage.
Ports include dual USB4, USB-C with DP, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The 50Wh battery charges via 65W USB-C PD. Windows Hello face recognition uses a 5MP camera with auto focus. The tablet has four stereo speakers, gyroscope, and G-sensor.
Minisforum's V3 Controller software enables real-time monitoring and power management. Users can switch between Power Saver, Balanced, and High Performance modes.
Pricing hasn't been announced yet. But AMD expects to start shipping the Ryzen 8040 chips to PC makers in Q1 2024. The V3 will likely hit the market around the same timeframe.
This 3-in-1 tablet sets itself apart with bleeding-edge AMD silicon focused on AI performance. It could appeal to creators and business users needing power in a portable Windows device.
