Countdown To iOS 15: Release Date Announced

Ios 15 Release Date

Apple launched iOS 15 in September 2021. It brought FaceTime updates, tools for less distraction, revamped notifications with contact photos, and larger app icons. Notifications now group together for less interruption, sorted by importance.

iOS 15 introduces Focus, which filters app notifications according to user preferences. When Focus blocks notifications, it notifies the senders via Messages.

iOS suggests Focus modes like work or bedtime based on device data, but you can customize them. Focus settings sync across Apple devices once set on a device.

Safari in iOS 15 sports a fresh layout that prioritizes easy, one-handed access and emphasizes webpage content. It includes a new tab bar for effortless tab navigation.

Tab Groups let users save and access tabs across devices. Additionally, users can customize their web extensions and start pages for added functionality.

Maps in iOS 15 introduces an upgraded 3D view for cities with detailed buildings, crosswalks, and bike lanes. It enhances city driving with more details and improves Transit features like favorite transit lines, disembark notifications, and AR directions.

FaceTime adds Spatial Audio and voice isolation for more realistic call experiences, making voices sound like they come from their on-screen position. It includes a grid view that allows you to see multiple faces simultaneously and portrait mode.

SharePlay lets users share media during calls. Scheduled FaceTime calls can make shareable links accessible on Windows and Android devices.

Weather gets a makeover with full-screen maps, enhanced graphical weather displays, and dynamic layouts based on weather changes. Animated backgrounds accurately reflect sunlight and precipitation, with rain and snow onset and cessation notifications.

Wallet now supports adding new keys like offices, homes, and hotel rooms. Customers in selected U.S. states can add driver's licenses or state IDs to their Wallet.

The Memories tab inside Photos is updated with a fresh design and interactive features. It integrates Apple Music to suggest songs for personalized Memories.

iOS 15 introduces Live Text, which uses device intelligence to identify and interact with text in photos, enabling search, highlighting, and copying.

Spotlight searches photos by scenes, location, objects, people, and text. It includes web image searches and detailed TV shows, actors, musicians, and movie results. Enhanced contact results display shared photos, recent conversations, and location info from Find My.

New privacy features in iOS 15 include Siri requests processed on-device for faster response, Privacy Protection that prevents senders from tracking email opens and IP addresses, and a Privacy Report showing how apps use granted permissions.

iOS 15 brings various app updates, including mentions, custom tags, and Activity views in Notes. The Health app adds Walking Steadiness tracking, Trends, and a new sharing tab.

The “Shared with You” highlights content from Messages. The TV app introduces “For All of You,” which recommends household entertainment.

iOS 15 supports iPhone 6s and newer models, extending compatibility from iOS 14 devices.

The Latest iOS 15 Version

iOS 15.7.1 focuses on security updates. In iOS 15.6, users gained control to fast-forward, rewind, restart, and pause live sports games in the TV app. This update also addressed compatibility issues with Safari, Settings, and Braille gadgets.

Ios 15 Release Date

Earlier in iOS 15.5, new features included sending and requesting money via Apple Cash inside Wallet, settings to manage podcast episodes, support for external links, expanded Communication Safety, Apple Classical references, SportsKit enhancements, and introducing “Apple Balance,” etc.

iOS 15.4 brought in new emojis, third-party app support to use 120Hz on ProMotion screens, EU vaccine certs in Wallet, Face ID usage with masks on iPhone 12 and newer models, notifications control for Shortcuts automation, iCloud Keychain, Apple Card, password saving enhancements, SharePlay, custom mail domains, AirTags anti-stalking improvements, new Siri voices, bug fixes, Apple Watch restoration, and security enhancements.

iOS 15 Notifications Redesign

It introduces a revamped notification system with contact photos and larger app icons for easier recognition.

A new notification summary gathers less urgent notifications to deliver at suitable times like mornings or evenings. Notifications prioritize based on user interactions, ensuring the important ones are highlighted. Urgent messages still arrive immediately.

Users can now temporarily mute notifications from apps or messaging threads. iOS 15 suggests muting overly active threads that are not actively engaged.

Developers can utilize a notification API and send time-bound and update notifications from individuals using the new design.
