HP Elite x2 (1012) Expected By HP To Launch In January 2016

HP announced on November 19 that they expect to launch the new 12-inch Windows 10 2-in-1 tablet HP Elite x2 (1012) in January 2016, but that it will start to take orders two months ahead of an as of yet unspecified release date. The price is $899.

HP Elite x2 (1012) is a tablet that HP will launch in the enterprise tablet sector, hence HP has provided it with security features such as BIOS-level HP SureStart, HP Touchpoint Manager, and optional Intel vPro processor.

The new 2016 model HP Elite x2 has specs like a 12-inch screen with Full HD 1920 x 1280 resolution protected by Gorilla Glass 4, options of Windows 10 Home or Pro, or even the previous 8.1 Pro. The tablet has a built-in kickstand with 150-degree adjustments.

But just like the Dell XPS 12 that launches in December, and HP Spectre x2 it only has Intel Core m3-7 processor choices, and no Intel Core i3-7 processor choices. It will have options of up to 8GB of RAM, and various SSD storage options too.

Highlights include Bang & Olufsen speakers and a digitizer pen that looks identical to the previous Surface pen, but also things like a USB C port with Thunderbolt and USB A port, dual-band a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and optional 3G or 4G.

HP is also building a lot of accessories for this device. Price packages will vary, since this is first of all a enterprise tablet, with lots of tailoring before ordering it. But without any particular accessories it will start at $899 next year.
