HP Bowser 10 x2 Android Hybrid Tablet Prepped For 2014
HP Bowser 10 x2, how's that for a name? This looks like it's going to be the next 10-inch hybrid tablet with Android from HP.
Revealing itself through a benchmark test recently we seem to be dealing with yet another “x2” hybrid tablet device from HP. These are useful productivity devices, so no complaints there, but the included keyboards do add a little to the price, even if not much. HP already have another 10-inch “x2” Android hybrid tablet called HP SlateBook x2 that was released in August for $479.
Research suggests that the HP Bowser 10 x2 packs a 10.1-inch display with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. It ran Android 4.3 in the benchmark test, so that should be the minimum Android version upon release too.
Furthermore the Bowser appears to be powered by a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 processor at 1.8GHz. And it could have 4GB of RAM too. So, if this turns out to be true when HP officially unveils it, it won't be a lazy tablet.
I would expect to see an unveiling of Bowser in January 2014.
The price will be very interesting to see. There are so many good Android tablets with a 10-inch display at the moment that for this tablet to have any chance HP will have to get everything right in this category, including the price. The popular Asus MeMO Pad FHD 10 have the same resolution, but costs less than $299. And as an Android tablet hybrid it's got some serious competition in the newly released Asus Transformer Pad TF701 too, which have an even higher resolution.
