How to Browse the Web on Your Apple Watch with a Safari-like Browser
Are you tired of not being able to browse the internet on your Apple Watch? Don't worry, you're not alone. Unfortunately, Safari, the default web browser on iPhone, is not available on the Apple Watch. But there is a solution! You can get a third-party Safari-like web browser app on your Apple Watch that allows you to surf the web seamlessly. Whether you're on a run, in the gym, or in the pool, this app will come in handy when you don't have your iPhone with you.
Get Parrity, the Third-Party Browser App
To get a Safari-like web browsing experience on your Apple Watch, you need to use an app called Parrity. Parrity is a web browser that can be used on both your iPhone and Apple Watch. First, you need to install the Parrity app on your iPhone from the App Store.
Once you have installed Parrity, open the Watch app on your iPhone. Scroll down to the apps section and tap on the “Install” button next to the Parrity app. This will install the app on your Apple Watch.
Now that you have Parrity on your Apple Watch, you're ready to explore the world of the internet. Simply open the Parrity web browser on your Apple Watch, which should be in the list of apps. To enter a website URL, tap on the globe icon in the app to open the address bar. You can enter the URL using voice typing, handwriting mode, or even type it on your iPhone and it will sync with your Apple Watch. Once you've entered the URL, hit the Go button.
Browsing the Web on Your Apple Watch
Once a webpage opens in Parrity, you can use the Digital Crown or swipe up and down to navigate around the webpage. Keep in mind that the screen space on the Apple Watch is limited, so the browsing experience won't be as great as on an iPhone or laptop. However, Parrity works well and can be incredibly useful when you want to quickly browse something on your Apple Watch.
Other Workarounds for Browsing the Web on Your Apple Watch
If you don't want to use a third-party app like Parrity, there are a couple of workarounds you can try:
- Send the link you want to open on your Apple Watch via the Messages or Mail app. This will make the link available on your Apple Watch, and you can simply click on it to open it in the hidden browser on your device. However, note that you cannot manually enter links in the hidden browser of your Apple Watch.
- Use Siri to open popular sites like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and more. Activate Siri on your Apple Watch and say the name of the website you want to open. When the web results show up, scroll down and tap on “Open web page” to access the site.
