GPD Win 3 Is A 5.5-Inch Windows 10 Handheld With Sliding Keyboard And Gaming Controllers
An interesting new Windows 10 handheld at 5.5-inches has surfaced in detail on Liliputing. It's a new pocket laptop from GPD, called GPD Win 3 which will initiate a crowdfunding campaign for it come January.
The GPD Win 3 has a 5.5-inch display, and is a slider with a keyboard that can slide underneath. At the moment the concept design shows that gaming controllers are also attached the base of the keyboard, so these are likely to be stuck on it, unlike the Joy Cons on an Nintendo Switch.
So while the GPD Win 3 could theoretically be productive too, it is intended to be a powerful Windows gaming handheld or pocket laptop.
The specs could seem shockingly high to those who are not up to date on pocket laptops, as the GPD Win 3 is now teased as featuring up to an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, 16GB LPDDR4X RAM, PCIe NVMe SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4, and a 268 ppi resolution HD display.
Of course, this isn't the first Intel Core i7 powered pocket laptop, handheld, or small gaming laptop with controllers, as the rivalling pocket laptop brand One-Netbook have their own set of unique handhelds.
What will be interesting to see however, is if this rivalling and the obvious market demand for these ultra mobile PCs will lead to the resurrection of larger Windows 10 gaming tablets again, like the 10.1-inch Razer Edge that launched 7 years ago, also with an Intel Core i7 processor.
