Customized Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 To Showcase Mid-April
It was announced in a press release by SRI International today that they will introduce a customized Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 at the ISC West 2015 conference between April 15 and 17.
What SRI International stated specifically about this Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, was the following:
“SRI has entered into a supply agreement to start production and sales of the IOM technology-embedded Samsung mobile products for B2B applications. The initial product for this supply agreement will be a customized Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 tablet with a built-in IOM iris module.”
So it doesn't look like a new version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is imminent, as we have found no evidence of that during the last months. The tablet that will be showcased is instead fitted with a biometric “Iris on the Move” identity recognition technology.

The 8.4-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO is an 8-inch Android tablet introduced last year, with 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a beautiful 2560 x 1600 resolution display, and all over high specs. It still is one of the best Android tablets of today. But after the Super AMOLED Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 was launched, Samsung didn't market the Tab Pro tablet much any longer.
The existing Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 already has eye tracking features built into it, like with the “Smart Pause” feature that will pause a video users are looking at when they look away from the screen (see illustration below).
