Acer Iconia A1-840 Spotted With Intel Z3745 CPU
Just days after the new 7.9-inch Android tablet Acer Iconia A1-830 became available for sale, an almost identical tablet from Acer have been spotted running benchmark tests by the name of Acer A1-840.
The specs on the Acer Iconia A1-840 are about the same as on the A1-830, but they begin with a quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor at 1.8GHz, supported by HD Graphics GPU from Intel. The OS running in the test is Android 4.4.2, while the 8-inch display has a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution.
It otherwise has 1GB of RAM, and a 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera.

With specs like these, at least the processing power is higher, and the battery life would be improved too. The current Acer Iconia A1-830 is powered by a dual-core 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560, and have an average battery life of 7.5 hours.
So, Acer goes back to a quad-core processor again, as it used to run on last year's model, and even grows from 7.9 inches to full 8 inches. With these specs, there's no reason why it should launch for more than $179, which is what the present model costs.
