8-Inch Rugged Windows Tablet Durabook R8 Tablet Launched
Professional rugged computer manufacturer Durabook has just launched the Durabook R8 tablet, which is nothing less than an 8-inch Windows tablet with fanless ventilation and Intel Core processors.
So that's interesting. Featuring choices of either Intel Core i7-1250U or i5-12230U with Iris Xe Graphics, or something as rare as the Pentium Gold 8500, it even has 8GB / 16GB LPDDR4x RAM, and SSD storage from 128GB to 1TB all in an 8-inch tablet without fans to cool it down.
Also, if you like old school bezels, this tablet is for you. Of course, the bezels are thick because it may be used by people wearing thick gloves, and it's there to protect the screen and internals too.
That's why it even has a selectable DynaVue touch mode for finger, water, glove, or stylus. Which is a feature other tablet brands should make more out of too in my opinion.
The 8-inch screen may just be a HD resolution display at 1280 x 800, but it's bright enough at 800 nits.
Other important specs are a 2MP front camera, 8MP rear camera, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6, hot swappable batteries with 5 minutes swap time and choices of 3600 mAh and 7200 mAh batteries.
In addition to that, it has all the usual rugged tablet accessories options, ranging from card readers to RF antennas.
