7-Inch PBS Kids Playtime Pad 7 With DVD Players Sold On Best Buy
Best Buy has started selling the 7-inch PBS Kids Playtime Pad 7, a kids tablet that runs Android, yet still features a DVD player underneath.
As you might expect, with an integrated DVD player, this tablet is chunky with a thickness of 38,1mm. But the obvious upshot is that you can play DVD's on this tablet.
Of course, if you just want a cheap tablet and the ability to play DVD's or CD's on it, portable external USB connective DVD/CD players and burners are sold for less than $29, so that's usually a better option.
But at least the PBS Kids tablet has typical features such as parental controls, some educational content, games, music, and of course access to apps in Google Play. Although the OS it ships with is Android 7.1.
The specs are not the highest either, with a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, 16GB storage, and a 7-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display.
So as a dedicated kids tablet, the kids tablets from Samsung, Amazon, and TCL seem like they offer more for both the kids as well as more ease of mind for the parents than this tablet.
