4 Unique Methods to Loop YouTube Videos

Open your computer. Plug in your headphones. Log in. Start writing with YouTube playing in the next tab. This is my daily routine, the background noise helps me focus better. However, there are times when one particular song gets stuck in my head and I have to listen to it on repeat until I can't stand it anymore. Manually pressing the play button every time drives me even further towards insanity. But fear not, there are better ways to loop YouTube videos without the need for constant input. Let's explore four different methods that will allow you to loop videos effortlessly.

Method 1: Use the Native Option

If you want to loop YouTube videos natively, this method is for you. The loop feature has always been right in front of our eyes, yet somehow we tend to overlook it. YouTube offers a built-in loop feature on its webpage. Here's how you can use it:

  • Open YouTube on your computer
  • Play any video you wish to loop
  • Right-click anywhere in the video player
  • Select the “Loop” option from the menu
  • The video will now play infinitely in a loop

Method 1: Use the Native Option

Did you know? This method also works on smartphones. However, it may not be supported by every device and browser. For Android users, you can activate this feature on the Chrome browser. Simply open Chrome on your phone, go to m.youtube.com, tap the three dots on the top, select “Request Desktop Website,” play a video, long press to get a list of options, and tap on “Loop.” Now the video will play on loop on your phone.

Method 2: Use a Playlist

If you want to loop multiple YouTube videos, this method is perfect for you. By creating a playlist and enabling the repeat button, you can loop an entire playlist of videos. Here's how to do it:

  • Create a new playlist
  • Add the videos you want to repeat to the playlist
  • Start the playlist and press the repeat button
  • Your playlist will now play on repeat indefinitely

Method 2: Use a Playlist

This method works on both desktop and mobile devices. However, it requires a few extra steps compared to the native option.

Method 3: Use Third-Party Websites and Apps

If you frequently loop YouTube videos and want more customization options, this method is for you. There are several websites dedicated solely to looping YouTube videos. One such website is “Listen on Repeat.” It allows you to loop specific parts of a video and offers a time slot feature. Here's how to use it:

  • Find the YouTube video you want to repeat on your computer
  • In the URL, add “repeat” between “YouTube” and “dot”
  • For example, change the URL from “youtube.com/watch?v=t8kml1bMAd0” to “youtuberepeat.com/watch?v=t8kml1bMAd0”
  • Hit enter and you'll be redirected to the “Listen on Repeat” website where the video will play on an infinite loop

Which Method is the Best?

We've explored four different ways to loop YouTube videos. The best method for you depends on your preferences and requirements. Personally, I prefer using the YouTube Extension because it allows me to stay on the original website while making changes. The native option is great for those who don't want to make changes to their webpage or navigate to another website. If you frequently use your phone, I recommend trying out the dedicated apps as they often work better than websites on mobile devices.
