2nd Generation Getac F110 Rugged Tablet Announced

Getac have announced an updated new 2nd generation rugged F110 tablet which will be available with 5th generation Intel Core processor choices.

The F110 is a rugged 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 resolution, Windows 8.1 Pro tablet, with specifications like Intel Core i5-5200U/i5-5300U or i7-5500U/i7-5600U processor, Intel HD Graphics 5500 GPU, a 1.3MP front camera, a 8MP rear camera, LumiBond 2.0 glove capable touch screen, hot-swappable batteries, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi support, 4GB/8GB DDR3L RAM, 128/256GB SSD storage, and USB 3.0.

It’s has been rated according to MIL-STD-810G, IP65 and MIL-STD-461F standards. Which means it also weighs 1,390 grams. It’s also 24,5mm thick.

Getac’s tablets are alternatives to Panasonic’s Toughpad’s, but the price is in the same region, which means from over $2,000 and upwards.

But, with rugged tablets becoming ever more popular, the prices have gone down on some of them, with the cheapest being the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, which is available for around $560.
