12-Inch Oukitel OT5 With Helio G99 Processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB Storage Launch November 18
A fourth new 12-inch tablet in the new lower cost range of 12-inch tablets will start taking orders on November 18, when the Oukitel OT5 premieres on AliExpress for $229.
The specs on this tablet makes for an interesting combination of hardware.
Oukitel OT5 has the popular octa-core 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio G99 processor, with 12GB LPDDR4x RAM, twice as much virtual RAM, 256GB UFS storage, and support for microSD cards up to 2TB. So that makes it a good mid-range tablet of this size.

The 12-inch screen has a Full HD resolution of 2000 x 1200, with 300 nits brightness and support for stylus pen. The 12-inch tablets up until this fall have traditionally had 4K resolution, so the 2.2K resolution is a way to reduce cost. It doesn't have any negative impact on gaming or browsing the web, so it's only when used for images or watching 4K movies that you wished you had something like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ instead.
The battery capacity is very good, given the 11,000 mAh battery size, which gives the tablet an 11 hour battery life. The charger has 18W charging support.
Oukitel even made a design piece out of the Oukitel OT5 when we turn to the rear camera, where parts of the hardware around the camera is exposed through the cover. The rear camera has a 16MP resolution sensor from Samsung with an 81 degree lens and LED, as well as a 2MP macro camera.
On the front we have a 5MP Samsung camera and face unlocking, while on the audio front we have quad speakers.
Internet options are between dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB-C port. 4G LTE is also available for the bands B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B17/B18/B19/B20/B25/B26/B28A/B28B/B66, and TDD-LTE B38/B39/B40/B41 if that covers your region.
Tablet sensors range from the location sensors GPS, GLONASS, BDS, and Galileo, to g-sensor, gyro, proximity, ambient light sensor, e-compass, geo sensor, and battery meter.
It ships with Android 13 installed and may be eligible for updates according to Oukitel.
And the build quality is considered so good that Ouiktel has given it an IP69K rating which makes it waterproof. The screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5, so it should be very scratch resistant. Color options are grey, blue, and green.
The weight is even just 560 grams which is very good for a 12-inch tablet, and the thickness is good too at just 7.5mm.
So Oukitel may not be a household name yet, but they are starting to find their form with tablet computers, and the Oukitel OT5 is clearly more than good enough to reinforce that position as a serious tablet brand.
