11-Inch Android Tablet Chuwi HiPad Plus To Debut In Q1

Chuwi made a small statement recently that they were going to unveil a new tablet called Chuwi HiPad Plus. Fast forward a few days, and the tablet has now been listed on the arrival list in stores, although the tablet itself won’t be launched before a few weeks time:

Chuwi HiPad Plus is an 11-inch Android 10 tablet that’s powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT8183 processor, which is popular enough in for instance Chromebooks in the same price range.

Working with the processor, is a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and 128GB of eMMC storage with additional 128GB microSD card support.

As for the 11-inch screen, it has thin bezels, and a display resolution of 2176 x 1600. So the display resolution is pretty much maxing out the chipset.

The rest of the specs should make for a useful mid-range tablet, since the Chuwi HiPad Plus is equipped with a 5MP front camera for video calls, a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 1W stereo speakers, a 7300 mAh battery, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0.

This is also a very thin tablet, although it still has the space for a USB C port and pogo pins for a keyboard that will be launched even later. The thickness is 6.95mm, while the weight is just 505 grams, which is pretty light. And it doesn’t hurt that it looks very modern.

So it may not be as well spec’d as an 11-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, but if it’s mainly the 11-inch tablet factor you’re after, the Chuwi HiPad Plus may serve as an alternative. The release price is listed as $269.
