11 Creative Ways to Organize Photos on Your iPhone
Are you tired of your iPhone photo library being a disorganized mess? Do you struggle to find the pictures you're looking for? Don't worry! We've got you covered with 11 creative ways to organize photos on your iPhone. Let's dive in and discover how you can declutter and organize your pictures like a pro.
1. Use Albums to Organize Photos
One of the best ways to organize photos on your iPhone is by creating albums. Photo albums help group similar pictures together, making it easier to find them later. For example, if you went on a trip to Kashmir, you can create an album named “Kashmir” and add all the photos from that trip to this album.
2. Rearrange Photo Albums
Another cool trick is to arrange your albums alphabetically or in a custom order. Unfortunately, there is no direct way to do this, but you can manually rearrange the albums. Simply tap on the “Albums” tab, select “See All,” and then press “Edit.” From there, you can drag and drop the albums to change their positions.
3. Organize Photos Within an Album
Thankfully, you can also sort and rearrange photos within an album on your iPhone. Open the album, tap on the three-dot icon, and select “Sort.” You can choose from options like Oldest to Newest, Newest to Oldest, or Custom Order. This feature is available on iOS 14 and later.
4. Group Similar Albums in a Folder
Take your organization skills to the next level by grouping similar albums in a folder. For example, you can create a folder called “2023” and place all the albums with pictures taken in that year inside it. To create a folder, go to the “Albums” tab, tap on the “+” icon, select “New Folder,” and give it a name. You can then add albums to the folder by tapping on the three-dot icon and selecting “Add Photos.”
5. Add Existing Albums to a Folder
Although iPhones don't have a native way to add existing albums to a folder, there's a workaround. Create a new folder, move out of it, open the existing album, select all the photos, tap on the three-dot icon, and choose “Add to Album.” Select the folder you want to add the pictures to, create a new album inside the folder, and give it a name. Finally, go back to the original album and delete it.
6. Add Pictures to the Favorites Album
If there are pictures you want to access quickly, you can add them to the Favorites album. Simply open the photo or video, tap on the heart icon, and it will be added to the Favorites album under the Albums tab.
7. Remove Duplicate Photos
The Photos app has a built-in feature to detect and merge duplicate photos, helping you organize your pictures and save space on your iPhone. You can find the Duplicates album in the Utilities section of Albums. Tap on “Merge” above the similar photos you want to merge.
8. Delete Multiple Pictures
If your photo library is filled with unwanted pictures, you can easily delete multiple photos at once. Tap on the “Select” button in the Library tab, choose the photos you want to delete, and tap the delete icon. Please note that deleting pictures from the Library will remove them from albums as well.
9. See Photos Taken with an iPhone Camera
To easily find photos taken with the Camera app, tap on the “Search” tab and search for “iPhone.” Select your iPhone model to see all the pictures taken with your iPhone's camera.
10. Hide Photos on Your iPhone
If you have private photos you want to keep hidden, you can hide them directly in the Photos app. Open the photo, tap on the three-dot icon, and select “Hide.” The hidden photos will be stored in the Hidden folder, accessible from the Albums section. You'll need a password or Touch ID/Face ID to unlock the folder.
11. Find Screenshots, Videos, Selfies, and More Quickly
The Photos app automatically organizes your media into different folders, making it easy to find specific types of photos and videos. Tap on the “Albums” tab, scroll down to the Media Types section, and select the folder you want to explore, such as screenshots, videos, or selfies.
